Finding The Perfect Wedding Dress: My Story

I can honestly say that I’ve been watching wedding shows on TV for as long as I can remember. Countless episodes of A Wedding Story, Four Weddings, Platinum Weddings and of course Say Yes To the Dress. But I never saw a gown on any of these shows that I really loved. So when the time came to start thinking about my own wedding dress, I looked online and happened to stumble upon a gown by Kenneth Pool that caught my eye. It was different in every way and like nothing I’ve ever seen before. Excited to try on that exact dress I went with my mom and grandmother to SAKS for the designers trunk show, in hopes it would be the one. When we got there I was told that they didn't have the dress, it was only shown on the runway, and impossible to get. Feeling very disappointed and discouraged, I called the designers flagship store and got an appointment that same day in hopes I would hear something different.

Unfortunately, we heard the same thing. The dress was shown on the runway, but would not be produced. I tried on a few others, but still had that dress in the back of my mind. They located the sample at the design studio and I was told they could get it for me to try on the following week. I agreed reluctantly knowing it most likely wasn't going to fit and a custom gown was nowhere in the budget.

A week later, with a little bit of luck and a whole lot of prayer, I tried it on and sure enough it fit like a glove! I fell in love and ended up purchasing the sample. I guess you can say the dress was made for me!
